SNP MP for Lanark and Hamilton East, Angela Crawley, asked the Government to make a statement on Clydesdale Bank’s treatment of SMEs.
The urgent question follows criticism of Clydesdale Bank for neglecting small-business owners by allegedly mis-selling loans.
Economic Secretary to the Treasury, John Glen, replied to the urgent question on behalf of the Government, telling the House:
“The Government has been consistently clear that where there has been inappropriate treatment of SMEs by their bank, it is vital that these businesses can resolve their disputes and obtain fair redress.”
