CYBG boss David Duffy on the future of banking for SMEs

The owner of the Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank is enhancing the support offered to SME customers with its first co-working space in Manchester.

It’s the official launch day of B Works, a new state-of-the-art SME hub and retail store in the heart of Manchester and David Duffy, the CEO of the UK’s sixth largest bank, is busy greeting potential customers and offering them tea and coffee.

Given how CYBG is continuing to cement its position as the UK’s leading challenger bank, it is moving away from traditional banking and has fully embraced not only technology and digitalisation of banking, but has wised up to the needs of both personal and business customers.

So it was no surprise to see Duffy just hanging out on the shop floor on Market Street.

The four-storey building, formerly the home of fashion chain Mango, has been given a new lease of life as B Works.
