Nottingham City Council suing Barclays over ‘manipulated’ loans

The city council is suing one of the world’s largest banks over loans which it claims were manipulated.

The Labour-run council is one of seven local authorities taking legal action against the bank.

Together the councils took out 49 loans worth £550 million.

The councils have now filed a group action claim against the bank, with the matter expected to go to the High Court.
